By most counts, Uganda is one of the twenty poorest countries in the world. Many people struggle to live on just one dollar per day. A land-locked country located on Lake Victoria, between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Kenya, Uganda is home to about 30 million people. The life expectancy is 51 years, due mostly to the high infant mortality rate (blame malaria and diarrhea, among others) and AIDS.

Through personal contacts, Open Door Project Uganda has identified some very tangible ways to help some of the most vulnerable children and families in Uganda. Please read Our Work to learn more.
